About the event

This presentation drives awareness and discussion regarding the diagnosis, management, and prevention of Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex (CIRDC). 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the basics of CIRDC
  2. Identify and discuss pathogens of greatest concern.
  3. Evaluate how different vaccination protocols can impact the immunity and protection against different pathogens.
  4. Recognize best practices for infection prevention and control.
  5. Gain new strategies to fight CIRDC.

Dr. Blythe Jurewicz Bio: 

Dr. Jurewicz graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005 and completed her private practice rotating internship at Encina Veterinary Hospital/East Bay Veterinary Specialists and Emergency in 2006. She continued to work exclusively in private practice for seven years until 2012 when she transitioned to a Community Practice clinical teaching position at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Since that time, Dr. Jurewicz joined UC Davis as a faculty member and served as the Chief of Service for Community Practice. While there, she was engaged in both clinical and didactic teaching on primary and preventative care.

Among her passion and expertise in animal health, Dr. Jurewicz considers dermatology, preventative care, low-stress handling, and all things feline to be her primary interests. A valued member of the Veterinary Professional Services Team at Merck Animal Health since 2019, Dr. Jurewicz strives to provide education to the veterinary field to improve the lives of our beloved pets and the people who love them.
